Produced by the Bocas Lit Fest and sponsored by The Scotiabank Foundation, the Write Away! YA Literature Project was designed to keep students and teachers motivated and engaged in creative writing and reading when schools went online in 2020. The project included five virtual workshops that break down the essentials of creative writing, led by the author Lisa Allen-Agostini, and introduce youth to award-winning Caribbean YA Literature. The virtual workshops cover everything from character building to planning your plot and scene setting, using engaging, short videos with illustrations from Caribbean Literature and popular YA fiction.
In the Reading & Writing workshop, Lisa Allen-Agostini shows young writers how reading an extensive and diverse range of books is the key to writing good literature.
