Conditions of Event attendance

Most Bocas Lit Fest Events are free to the public. We offer limited reserved seating on a first-come, first-served basis to our Friends of the Bocas Lit Fest network as a benefit of membership. Terms and conditions governing our in-person events include:

When specific seats are allocated to you, the venue management reserves the right to change seating assignments.
Some events may be filmed or recorded, your attendance affirms your consent.
Unauthorised use of cameras, video camera or any other sort of recording equipment is strictly forbidden at any event.
In the event of a ticketed performance cancellation, your ticket can be refunded upon request via the same purchase method. If the event is rescheduled, the ticket will be valid for the later event.
Resale of tickets purchased for profit or financial gain will result in a seizure or cancellation of that ticket(s) without refund or other compensation.
Tickets cannot be used for unauthorised 3rd party competitions.
Food and drink are not allowed in any of our venues.
Smoking is prohibited in all of our festival venues; this includes the use of E-Cigarettes and personal vaporisers.
Venue management reserves the right to refuse admission in reasonable circumstances.

Latecomers

Owing to the live broadcast of events at the Bocas Lit Fest we may not accommodate latecomers. You will not be able to take your seat within the venue until there is an intermission, at which time our venue and Festival staff will usher you.

Credit & Debit Cards

We accept Visa, Mastercard and Maestro for online and direct payments at our head office.

Refunds

The Festival cannot refund money or exchange tickets, except in the case of a cancelled performance.

Event speakers and/or contents are subject to change. We cannot refund tickets if speakers have cancelled, but the event is still taking place. Bocas Lit Fest reserves the right to change artists or programmes as necessary.

Guidance for Families

There are generally no age limitations for most Bocas Lit Fest events. Programs typically indicate the event’s nature, so our patrons can determine which age group would enjoy the event most. They are no restrictions; you know your child best.
An adult must accompany children aged 11 years and under.
Bocas Lit Fest maintains a Safeguarding Policy but cannot take responsibility for unsupervised children.
Lost children will be taken to the Green Room at the Festival or to security personnel at an external event. Please ensure that children have your mobile number about their person for us to contact you.

Lost Property

Property lost during the Festival will be taken to the Green Room located in the National Library building. Items must be claimed by the last day of the festival, after which they will be disposed of. Please contact us if you have any queries: [email protected]

Friends of the Bocas Lit Fest

Your sponsorship contribution to the Friends of the Bocas Lit Fest (FBLF) does not constitute the membership of the NGO, the Bocas Lit Fest.

Your donation will provide 12 months of access to the platform from the date of subscription
Please refer to the FBLF tiers for the entitlements/benefits
Your donation to the FBLF does not guarantee you tickets for any of our events.
Your contribution is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Discounts

All discounts and concessions are offered subject to availability on a limited allocation basis.
Discounts cannot be combined with other offers or applied retrospectively.
Discounted tickets are only to be used by the account holder and are not transferable.
Bocas Lit Fest reserves the right to make additional targeted special offers in addition to those offered published in brochures or on websites from time to time. Bocas Lit Fest may also withdraw any offers.

Is my payment secure?

Our payment portal is SSL enabled, so you can trust that your privacy and the safety of your financial transactions are guaranteed.

Is it tax-deductible?

The BLF is in the process of obtaining certification from the Artist Registry of Trinidad and Tobago, after which financial gifts and donations will be tax-deductible in Trinidad and Tobago. Just know that your contribution will go a long way towards ensuring the sustainability of our NGO.

Can I cancel?

We genuinely hope that your subscription to our Friends program was driven by a desire to support this vital work. The array of entitlements we will provide we hope will just heighten your appreciation for us. We wish that you will never have cause to cancel your subscription, but if you do, we will refund the prorated balance of your annual fee.
